Privacy
Short, because this site collects very little.
What is collected
From the contact form, only what you enter: your name, email address, an optional phone number, what your enquiry is about if you choose to say, and your message. It is sent to jay@ltpmicro.com as an email, and a copy is kept in a private database on this site's server, so an enquiry cannot be lost if an email goes astray. It is never added to a marketing list.
From every page, the visit statistics Google Analytics records: which pages are read, and how people find and use them. That is described in full under Analytics below.
Cookies
Google Analytics sets two cookies: _ga, and a second whose name begins _ga_. They hold a random number, so that a return visit can be told apart from a first one, and nothing that identifies you by name or email address. They expire two years after your last visit. There are no advertising cookies.
A session cookie is set when you open the contact page, and it exists solely to carry the token that proves the form was submitted from this site rather than by an automated script. It contains no personal information and is discarded when you close your browser.
Analytics and third parties
This site uses Google Analytics, a service run by Google, to count visits and see which pages are read. Each page you view sends Google its address, the page that linked to it, your browser, device type, screen size and language, how long you stay, how you use the page (for example, how far you scroll and which links to other sites you follow), and your approximate location, worked out from your IP address. Google Analytics does not store the IP address itself.
It is set up without Google signals and without advertising features, so what it records is not linked to a Google account and is not used to show you ads. Google describes its own handling in how Google uses information from sites that use its services (opens in a new tab).
The analytics script is not loaded at all if your browser sends a Global Privacy Control (opens in a new tab) signal, or if JavaScript is turned off. You can also opt out on every site with Google's opt-out browser add-on (opens in a new tab).
Nothing else here contacts another company's servers: no advertising pixels, no embedded videos, no web fonts loaded from elsewhere, and no chat widget. The site's Content Security Policy permits the addresses Google Analytics uses and blocks every other outside server, so that is enforced rather than merely intended.
Server logs
The web server records requests in the ordinary way, including IP addresses, as every web server does. Those logs are used to diagnose faults and to identify abusive traffic.
The contact form's rate limiter also needs to recognise repeat submissions from the same connection. It stores a salted one-way hash of the address rather than the address itself, specifically so that the limiter cannot become a record of who visited. Those entries are removed automatically.
How long things are kept
Enquiries are kept, in the business inbox and in that database, until they are deleted, in the same way as any other correspondence. If you ask for yours to be removed, it is deleted from both, and it drops out of the database's rolling backups within 14 days. Server logs are rotated on the host's normal schedule. Google Analytics keeps the individual visit records for two months; after that, only totals remain.
Your data
You can ask what has been kept about you, ask for it to be corrected, or ask for it to be deleted. Since the only record here that identifies you is the enquiry you sent, emailing that request is enough.
Changes
If this site ever starts collecting more than it does today, this page changes at the same time as the code that changes it — not afterwards.
